Jim, If you ever get to Humbolt county and want to visit Arcata California way up north about 100 miles from the Oregon coast they have some of the most awesome Vegan places there that make it all good.
You have heard of Humboldt State University I hope.
Be sure to check it out if you can.
kevyrat: heh, I am avowed meat eater. If eating it raw wouldn't make me sick, I'd attack tasty looking animals as I see them. A nice crusty steak done right -- yum!
Don't get me wrong, I eat my veggies too, and mostly eat veggies and grains. I make my own whole grain breads. Eat salad every day. I will eat yummy vegetarian or vegan fare, gladly.
But I appreciate my meat. You see, my mother was a vegetarian, and did NOT know how to make it taste good.
But, come on!!, this tofurken is a travesty. If you don't eat meat -- then don't eat it. Don't eat fake meat, don't eat real meat. DON'T EAT MEAT. Food that has had the dickens processed out of it is no better if it is vegan than if it is not. I don't care if only organic stuff goes in there, it isn't as healthy for a person as the unprocessed food it replaces. This isn't food. It's the vegan's agnostic attempt at satisfying their taste buds.
